Description
Phaius tancarvilleae is a robust perennial that produces stalks from psedobulbs of up to 1.3 m talk bearing clusters of multicoloured white, brown and pink flowers. The inflorescences are classed as racemes. Plantb bloom in the spring with many 11,5 cm wide flowers. Flower are fragrant. This species has became invasive in Jamaica and Hawaii. In Papua the flower are amoled and eaten as a contraceptive.
The leaves are large arise from bulb with erect inforencences.
